Pensacola Memorial Dedicated to Gold Star Families

Nov 24, 2020

On November 11, 2020, CWO-4 Hershel “Woody” Williams, USMC, Ret. honored Pensacola with the unveiling of the Park’s newest memorial dedicated to Gold Star Families. Woody was awarded the Medal of Honor in 1945 by President Harry S. Truman for his heroic efforts during the Battle of Iwo Jima in the Pacific portion of the Second World War. Veterans Memorial Park of Pensacola provided a beautiful and fitting backdrop for this year’s Veterans Day Ceremony and follow-on events. Keynote speaker, Jill Hubbs, Station Manager at WSRE, shared her thoughts and experiences as a Gold Star Daughter from the Vietnam War. In attendance were our Partners, Bryan Aylstock and Doug Kreis, joined by two of the Firm’s Veterans Lt. Colonel Andrew DelGaudio, USMC, Ret. and Donna Law, US Army, Ret. (pictured here with Woody). The dedication would not have occurred without the tireless efforts of members of The Veterans Memorial Park Foundation of Pensacola.
